Seriously who knew there was so many cool- “I love Orange Juice” stuff!!! http://bit.ly/ct0BDB
Now this bad boy crumble is something else! It was recommended to me I thought I’d give it a lash & you know what? I have to say it gets the thumbs up:)
Very tasty, easy to whip up & good if you’re still trying to stick with the Jan detox (off course I fell off the rails come 5th Jan. Never mind there’s always 2011!)
So here you go. GIve it a try & take this recommendation, from the persson who gave me the link- “I leave out the pistachios and raisins and I add a little bit more apple juice because I like it gooey”
Combine the oats and the milk in a mixing bowl, cover and let stand about 30 minutes. Add bran flakes and raisins, let stand 10 more minutes.
Preheat oven to 190°C.
Add cinnamon, sweetener, walnuts or pistachios. Arrange the sliced apples into a lightly greased baking pan, pour the apple juice over the apples and cover with the prepared mixture. Bake about 15 – 20 minutes.
Eat more fruit and vegetables
This is one of the easiest ways to start feeling good. Fruit and vegetables are packed with the vitamins and minerals we need to help our body’s work at their best – and they are one food group it is easy to miss out on. Simply eating 2 extra servings of fruit or vegetables a day can make a surprising difference.
Think about having some fruit or vegetables at every meal. Start with some fruit juice for breakfast or add some fruit to cereal – try sliced banana, mandarin orange or fresh or frozen berries. Make sure you have some salad in sandwiches at lunchtime or order a side salad if you are eating out. Snack on some fruit in the afternoon and make sure 1/3 of your dinner plate is vegetables or salad. Remember: it doesn’t have to be a big fuss – even a sliced tomato will count. Frozen vegetables are just as good as fresh and they make a quick handy standby if you are feeling tired or under pressure.

Ok, I’m seriously starting to worry. Do I, me, yes me, the party girl that I am, actually suffer from depression………. I’m definitely starting to wonder… I know I “claim” to be depressed frequently, especially when my trousers won’t fit (ooh thats ffor another blog, but yip they are now so tight I have to leave the top button open!) but am I really depressed as in the true sense of the word?
Apparently most of us suffer from some form of depression at times in our life. Live isn’t always easy and it isn’t always fun, it is normal to feel depressed once in a while. Though its said to be “clinically depressed” when you feel as though it affects every facet of your life, making it impossible enjoy your life and function well in society. When you lose interest in things that used to captivate you, such as hobbies and friends, you feel tired and listless all the time and just getting through the day may seem like an insurmountable task. Many people that suffer from clinical depression don’t feel sadness, they feel empty and lifeless, apathetic. They may have a completely bleak outlook on life and have no interest in anything including eating and sleeping. They may suffer from self loathing and engage in harsh criticism of themselves.
If you are suffering from what you believe is clinical depression, you need to get help from a professional that understands the symptoms, the feelings, and what steps to take in what progression in order to help you escape from the depression and regain control of your normal life.
If though like me you’re miss-using the word depressed then simply buy bigger trouser- It worked for me.

Miserable! That’s how to describe anyone suffering with the cold or flu at the moment. It gets hold & leaves you floored for days. My sinuses hurt, my throat was itchy, my eyes were sore & I felt like my head was in a pillow.
My own personal remedy is plenty of water; paracetamol & plenty of orange juice. OJ is an excellent source of vitamin C, as are all types of oranges including clementines and satsumas. (Oooh yeah & of course a few days in bed under the duvet:) sorry boss, but it has to be done, better we all have a few days off now of a few weeks off when we get pluracy …..or worse!)
Oranges and orange juice are famous for their high vitamin C content and their ability to boost the immune system and aid the body in fighting off viruses such as the common cold. In larger doses the vitamin C in orange juice is said to work as an antioxidant.
Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) is a water soluble vitamin that is easily destroyed by cooking and freezing. It is essential to the human body as discovered in the 18th century when citrus fruit was found to treat and prevent scurvy on long sea voyages.
Our bodies use vitamin C to produce collagen a structural protein that holds the body together. It prevents bleeding gums, hastens the healing of cuts, and strengthens blood vessels and capillaries helping to prevent heart attacks and strokes. Vitamin C also aids the absorption of iron, preventing anemia.
All I can say is during the colder months give your body & immune system every chance to ward of the cold so you don’t end up Miserable like me:)
